On the 17 of Nov i reported to this place called Armour Training Institute. . i was quite happy as i wasnt choosen to become an infantry specialist, armour sounds interesting..yea but it comes with a whole lot of shit, shit that u can nv imagine ;D Sumth many other vocations wont get to kena.

On the first day my section came across this journal wrote by one of the trainess from 01/08 batch, it was so encouraging as he spoke of how tough the course is and the high attrition rate. We sat down and thought for a awhile, SHIT this doesnt seem to be as good as we thought! ARGH!

We started off with signals and driving training, soon we moved onto weapons training. My section was the "CUB" section so we trained primarily on the 2 men turret platform. As we got more proficient with the drills and weapons, section training kicked in. After every outfield we felt tt our lungs just got filled up with dust and sand, we went out green and came back orange. The best time was when we mounted up and the vehicle travelled to the next contact point. Once the ramp is up, its either snack time or sleep time, we always tried to catch some sleep only to be jolted up when we hear the command to dismount and clear forward. "Wa lao eh..how many more times sia.."

We went overseas, enduring the harsh weather and unforgiving terrain and completed the first ALFS. We always complained about the local mud and weather till we hit the overseas training grounds. It was terrible there. We worked hard had loads of fun over there and we realised something; we are coming to the end of the AISL course.

We returned refreshed and with more confidence to take on the role as an armour infantry specialist. We prepared for POP and there was alot of speculation on the postings and i guess i got the 'most popular' posting. So damn lucky. When we did the drivepass, the 22weeks course ran thru my head and boom! this is it, its the end of my trainee life, i have no more act blur live longer privileges. Im gonna be a commander.
